Force Needed to Get to Mars

We did three math problems to find the gravitational force that is either working for us or against us as we make our journey to mars.

1. Gravitational Force from Earth to Mars
         F= 4.757577992 x 10^26
2. Gravitational Force from Earth to the Spaceship
        F= 5.098460191 x 10^16
3. Gravitational Force from the Spaceship to Mars
        F= 5.478181789 x 10^15

The first equation is the gravitational pull from Earth to mars. But when we get to the second equation where the spaceship is between both planets the gravitational pull decreases from Earth and increases from Mars. The gravity will eventually work for us and start pulling us toward Mars as we gradually get farther and farther from Earth and that is where the third equation kicks in.

  1. Great! Thanks for this post!!!!

    You did a good job of pulling all of this together.
